LessonUp alternative

LessonUp searches. LectaMe generates.

LessonUp lets you search a library. LectaMe creates a new presentation for your specific topic — with didactic structure and layered depth. Both are Dutch, both GDPR-proof. The question is whether you want to find or to create.

Start free. No credit card. 10 credits (~3 AI presentations) per month included.

Three things LectaMe does differently

Generate, not search

No combing through a library or adapting other teachers' lesson plans. Enter your topic and get a tailor-made presentation in seconds.

Didactic structure built in

Theory Flow for knowledge, Case Flow for scenarios, Quiz Flow for assessment. Based on constructive alignment and scaffolding — not dependent on the creator.

Beyond education

Works just as well for trainers, entrepreneurs and speakers. From classroom to boardroom, from pitch to keynote — same tool, different audience.

When LessonUp is the better choice

Honestly: LessonUp has 200,000+ teachers, 3,000+ schools and a rich community library. For standard topics in secondary or MBO education where lots of existing material is available, you can find faster than generate. LMS integrations (Somtoday, Canvas, Teams) are a hard requirement for many schools.

For niche topics, new subjects, or presentations outside education (training sessions, pitches, keynotes), generating with LectaMe is structurally faster and more relevant. The two can coexist just fine: LessonUp for common lessons from the library, LectaMe for everything beyond that.

When do you choose LectaMe?

Your subject or topic isn't in LessonUp's library — specialized MBO programs, new curricula, niche modules
You want a didactic structure that doesn't depend on who made the lesson plan
You also work outside education — training sessions, onboardings, pitches, stakeholder presentations
Your school no longer has a LessonUp license and you're looking for a free alternative with the same Dutch-language GDPR guarantees
You value generating over searching — every lesson gets its own fitting structure instead of an adaptation of someone else's work

Frequently asked questions

Does LectaMe have a library of teaching material?+

Limited. LectaMe's focus is on generating rather than searching — you provide a topic and the AI builds the lesson. There is a public gallery with examples, but no extensive editorial library like LessonUp.

Can I import my LessonUp content?+

Not directly. However, you can export a LessonUp lesson as PowerPoint and import it into LectaMe — after that you build LectaMe interaction (polls, quizzes, layered depth) around it.

For which education levels does LectaMe work best?+

LectaMe is designed for MBO, HBO and corporate training. For primary education, LessonUp's library approach is often more practical; for MBO/HBO, where specific topics change faster, generating with AI makes more sense.

Does LectaMe work in a school environment (Magister, Somtoday)?+

LectaMe is a standalone tool. You share session codes or learning-path links via your LMS or email. No direct integration with Magister/Somtoday at this time.
