Plain-language summary

We use a small number of cookies and local storage items — all listed below with name, purpose and retention period.
Analytics cookies are only loaded after explicit consent and can be withdrawn at any time.
Necessary cookies and local storage (e.g. logged-in session, language choice, recovery buffer) are always active — without them LectaMe does not work.
We do not place any marketing or advertising cookies.

1. What are cookies and local storage?

Cookies are small text files that are stored in your browser. In addition to cookies, there are similar techniques — such as localStorage and IndexedDB — that also store information in your browser. In this statement we treat them on an equal footing with cookies.

2. Which categories do we distinguish?

Necessary: needed for LectaMe to function. Logging in, sessions, security, recovery buffer and storing your cookie preference. No consent required.
Analytics: anonymized insights into page visits to improve the site. Only after explicit consent.
Functional: preferences such as language and theme that make use more pleasant. Can be enabled or disabled via the cookie preferences.
Marketing: we do not use any marketing or advertising cookies.

4. Change or withdraw your preference

You can always adjust your cookie preferences again. Withdrawing consent is just as easy as giving it.

Tip: in the footer of every page there is also a link Cookie settings under "Legal". In addition, at the bottom right of the screen you will find a gear icon that opens the preferences directly.

5. Block cookies at the browser level

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser. Please note: for necessary cookies — for example your login session — this means that parts of LectaMe will no longer work properly. Consult your browser's help page for instructions (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge).
