Frequently asked questions
What can I edit in the LectaMe Videostudio?+
You work with multiple clips on a timeline, cut and split fragments, add transitions, audio and titles, and control playback speed. For teachers and trainers this is enough for lesson videos, instruction videos, demos and microlearning. It is deliberately not an Adobe Premiere replacement for film production — but a fast route from recording to a usable lesson video.
Does automatic subtitling work in Dutch too?+
Yes. The Videostudio automatically generates Dutch subtitles based on the audio. You then adjust the text, timing and placement in the editor. Subtitles can be burned in or delivered as a separate track. For WCAG-level accessibility this is a required step that the Videostudio handles in one click.
Which video formats can I import and export?+
Import: MP4, MOV, WebM and M4V. Export: MP4 (H.264) with variable resolution up to 1080p. For in-presentation use you usually do not export — the video stays inside LectaMe and plays directly in your slide. To share outside LectaMe you get a share link or embed code via the render queue.
How does the Videostudio compare to CapCut or Adobe Premiere?+
CapCut is made for TikTok content and social. Adobe Premiere for film production. The LectaMe Videostudio is made for education and training: fewer editing features, but didactic integration — your video sits right inside an interactive presentation with polls and quizzes around it. No switching between tools, no export/import hassle, GDPR-safe on EU servers.
Where is my video stored and who can see it?+
Videos are stored in LectaMe's EU hosting (Supabase Frankfurt). By default they are only visible to you and the presentation in which you use them. You can generate a specific share link whose reach you set (private, with a code, or public). No video is used for AI training or passed on to third parties.
Can I play a lesson video directly in a LectaMe slide?+
Yes, that is the whole point. Place the video as a slide element and it plays in the presentation — with optional triggers (pause at a question, continue on a correct answer). For blended learning you can use the same video in standalone microlearning flows without a live session.
Does Videostudio work on a Chromebook?+
Yes. Everything runs in the browser — no installation needed. For projects over 10 minutes or 1080p a laptop with more memory works more comfortably, but light lesson videos up to 5 minutes run just fine on a Chromebook or an older laptop.
What does Videostudio cost?+
