Anatomy — layered presentation with AI illustrations

Template for an anatomy lesson with external anatomy, cross-section, cellular deepening and a clinical case. AI illustrations from Image Studio, layer reveal during the lesson, formative check at learning-objective level. For MBO and HBO healthcare education and biology.

The structure

  1. 1
    Learning objectives + opening· 3 min

After this lesson you can name X, explain Y and distinguish Z in a clinical context.

  2. 2
    External anatomy· 7 min

AI illustration of the organ in situ. Pin-the-spot: students click on recognisable structures.

  3. 3
    Cross-section· 10 min

Image Studio illustration with labels. The function of each structure is added one by one through slide reveals.

  4. 4
    Cellular level (layer)· 8 min

Deepening: histology and cellular structure. Only open it with a group that has mastered the core material.

  5. 5
    Clinical case· 7 min

A patient case that makes anatomy applicable. Multiple choice: where is the problem?

  6. 6
    Formative check· 5 min

4 questions per learning objective. A pass rate per objective in the teacher cockpit.

What you get

  • 6 phases in a didactically grounded order
  • 4-6 ready-made Image Studio prompts
  • Layered teaching for MBO vs HBO level
  • Clinical case template for application
  • A measurable formative check per learning objective

Frequently asked questions

Which anatomy topics work with this template?+

Almost everything: heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, muscular system, skeleton, nervous system, endocrine glands. The structure (external → internal → clinical) fits any organ system. For the molecular-cellular level (DNA, proteins) a different template works better — diagram presentations without an anatomical context.

How do I use Image Studio for the illustrations?+

Image Studio generates anatomical illustrations from prompts. Example: "Cross-section of human kidney, anatomical accuracy, labeled nephron units, didactic style, white background". You can then add labels, arrows and colours in Image Studio for your specific learning objective. The template includes 4-6 ready-made prompts.

Does this work for both MBO and HBO level?+

Yes, through layered teaching. The base layer (external + cross-section anatomy) works for MBO levels 3-4. The deepening layer (cellular structure, clinical pathology) works for MBO level 4 and HBO. You only open the deepening layer once the group has mastered the basics.

What is the relationship with clinical context?+

Anatomy without a clinical context is dry. The template ends each anatomy section with a mini case: "patient with X — where is the problem and what do you see on the cross-section?" This keeps anatomy connected to professional practice. For pure biology teaching without a clinical context: replace the cases with biological examples.
